Welcome My name is Carrie Burke, I am a NZ Jeweller and Artist.  Growing up on a farm in the Wairarapa I have always had an affinity for being 'outdoors'.  A move to Wellington as a teenager enabled me to also fall in love with the vibrancy of the city. "Nature is truly the most magnificent designer ever and a source of constant inspiration for me.  At heart, I am a sculptor and I enjoy treating paint as another material in the toolbox!

I graduated from The Learning Connexion in 2007 and I loved my time there.  It was during this time that I discovered the joy of molten metal, it was a totally unexpected thrill for me and I was hooked on the process right from the start.

I am passionate about the 'benefits' for a society when we value creativity-and in this spirit, I accepted an invitation to become a member of the NZ national committee  for the World Art Games inaugural  event in Croatia, June 2013.  I am proud to say I come from a 'small nation at the bottom of the world', were we are known for our innovative  no.8 wire solutions-referenced in the work I am taking with me.!

If you would like to  support my efforts to put Kiwi artists in the global picture, then consider donating to me at www.pledgeme.co.nz/815
